Built in 1998, this unique four star hotel is truly in tune with the area's history of being the hub of the indigenous timber industry of the Knysna forests. The lavish, but tasteful use of rare Yellowwood and other indigenous timber in the construction showcases just why the area became so famous for timber products in the last century.

The area is renowned for its natural beauty and has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the whole country. The magnificent Outeniqua Mountains run into the vast indigenous forests of Knysna. An extensive collection of original railway and steam train memorabilia recall a bygone era, while our selection of historic photographs gives you deeper insight into Knysna’s locomotive past.
